Easiest Way to Make at dinner Sourdough Cinnamon rolls Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Sourdough Cinnamon rolls. These sourdough cinnamon rolls are hands down the best cinnamon buns I have ever eaten. Light and fluffy cinnamon rolls that use a sourdough starter. Perfect recipe for breakfast or hosting a brunch!

How to Make Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls.

This sourdough cinnamon roll recipe has relatively straightforward ingredients, using all purpose and whole wheat flour, egg, butter, and milk - making it an enriched dough.

Most importantly, you'll need active sourdough starter to mix your dough.

You can have Sourdough Cinnamon rolls using 10 ingredients and 18 steps. Here is how you cook it.

Ingredients of Sourdough Cinnamon rolls

  1. Prepare 2 cups of warm milk.

  2. Prepare of Instint Sourdough starter.

  3. You need 1/2 cup of Brown sugar.

  4. Prepare 1/2 cup of White sugar.

  5. It’s 4 cups of Flour.

  6. You need Tablespoon of Cinnamon.

  7. It’s 1 of TeaspoonVinilla exract.

  8. Prepare 1 cup of Powdered sugar.

  9. It’s 11/2 stick of Butter.

  10. You need 1 package of Cream cheese.

An active sourdough starter is one that has been fed and is holding its peak.

How To Make Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls.

Okay, so first let me preface by saying this is an adaptation from my book Artisan Sourdough Made Simple.

I used the Sweet Dough recipe (works like a dream!) and topped it with a quick cinnamon-sugar filling.

Sourdough Cinnamon rolls instructions

  1. Warm your milk to room temperature as it starts to warm up put your 1/2 cup white sugar in to the milk.

  2. Now take 1/2 cup melted butter and mix into the milk along with a teaspoon of vinilla.

  3. Next take 21/4 tsp of your sourdough starter mix into the other wet ingredients.

  4. Set a timer for 10 minutes and put your milk mixture somewhere warm.

  5. After the milk mixture has sit take 4 cup of flour and mix in slowly.

  6. When your dough is sticky take a pinch a salt and a teaspoon of baking powder and mix in.

  7. Take you dough and let rest for 50 minutes.

  8. As our dough rests lets start on the filling!.

  9. Take soft butter cinnamon cream cheese vinilla and mix them together with brown sugar and powder sugar.

  10. Take another cup of flour and mix into the dough so it is not sticky.

  11. After you knead the dought for 10 minutes it should be able to were if you poked it. it should come up again.

  12. When you roll the dough it should NOT be sticky.

  13. Now take your filling and spread on the dough.

  14. Roll your dough in a log shape and cut into circles.

  15. Now we are going to proof them. leave the non baked cinnamon rolls in a chill area for 10-15 minutes.

  16. After they are done proofing we can cook them for 25-35 minutes.

  17. Oh I almost forgot I made a cream cheese frosting it is half a package of cream cheese 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup melted butter teaspoon vinilla and mix till smooth.

  18. Now our cinnamon rolls are done swirle your frosting on and enjoy 🥳.

Sourdough makes everything wonderful and is for more than biscuits and bread.

The rolls are easy to make.

These cinnamon rolls are delicious and can enjoyed warm right out of the oven.

Use a pastry brush to Brush the melted butter onto the dough.; Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top, leaving a ½ inch around the edges bare.; Starting on one side of a long edge, roll the dough into the shape of a log.
