Recipe: Appetizing Semolina Veg Cake Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Semolina Veg Cake. Vegan semolina cake - this delicious eggless semolina cake can be made plain or flavoured with orange and/or lemon. It is moist and delicious with a beautiful melt-in-the-mouth texture. It makes a lovely tea time treat or snack; or serve warm with custard or ice cream for pudding!

I wanted to create something that wasn't as heavy or sweet.

Admittedly, I hadn't worked with semolina too much before, so I wanted to challenge myself, and I found that it works well in.

The Semolina coconut cake or Basbousa that was baked last week had a soft crumb and great texture.

Ingredients of Semolina Veg Cake

  1. It’s of Cup+ 2 tbsp semolina(suji).

  2. You need of chickpea flour (besan).

  3. It’s of curd.

  4. Prepare of Salt.

  5. You need of Turmeric powder.

  6. It’s of Black pepper powder.

  7. You need of chopped green chilli.

  8. You need of eno fruit salt.

  9. You need of chopped coriander leaves.

  10. Prepare of chopped vegetables.

  11. You need of like grated carrot,shredded cabbage,chopped onion,chopped tomato.

  12. It’s of For tempering:-.

  13. Prepare of oil.

  14. You need of mustard seeds.

  15. It’s of Cumin seeds.

  16. It’s of white sesame seeds.

  17. Prepare of Asafoetida (hing).

  18. Prepare of Few curry.

  19. Prepare of Dessicated coconut to garnish.

Drenched in sweet syrup, this cake is very easy to make.

Semolina Coconut Cake [Vegan] This semolina cake is very easy to prepare.

It is basically a very soft semolina sponge cake, soaked in a lot of syrup.

Yogurt and butter are used in the original semolina cake recipe, but I made it vegan. 🙂 Plus, I didn't use any refined sugar and used coconut sugar and agave syrup instead.

Semolina Veg Cake step by step

  1. Chop the vegetables and Keep ready.In a mixing bowl take semolina,add besan and curd.Mix well.Now add water little at a time and as needed to prepare a batter like that of cake batter consistency.cover and rest for 10 min.Now add salt,Black pepper powder and turmeric powder.If needed,add water.Mix well..

  2. Add chopped chilli,Coriander leaves,and other chopped vegetables.Mix everything well.Heat a steamer with 1 glass water in it Place a stand in the center.cover and preheat for 5 min.Now in the batter add Eno fruit salt and mix it..

  3. Pour this batter in a greased container.Tap it 2-3 times and place it on the stand in the steamed.cover with lid and let it cook for 20-25 min.Check with tooth pick.when cooked,off the flame.Take out the container.Prepare the tempering with oil,mustard seeds,Cumin seeds,sesame seeds,curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida.pour it on the cake and spread evenly.garnish with Dessicated coconut..

  4. Cut into pieces and Serve hot with tomato ketchup..
