Palak Kadhi is an Indian main course dish made with fresh spinach leaves cooked with curd and besan (gram flour) curry.

It is flavored with Indian spices and tempered with fried garlic & red chilis.

Ingredients of Palak ki kadhi

  1. You need 1 cup of chopped spinach.

  2. You need 1 CUP of curd.

  3. Prepare 1 tsp of Ginger garlic paste.

  4. You need 1 of chopped green chilli.

  5. You need 1 of chopped onion.

  6. Prepare To taste of Salt.

  7. Prepare 2 tsp of red chilli powder.

  8. It’s 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.

  9. You need 3 TBS of besan.

  10. It’s 1/4 tsp of hing.

  11. You need 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.

  12. Prepare 1 spring of curry patta.

  13. It’s 1/2 tsp of amchur powder.

  14. It’s 1 tsp of kasoori Methi.

  15. It’s 3 TBS of oil.

  16. Prepare 1 of Dry RED CHILLI.

Traditionally Kadhi is a dish consisting of a thick gravy based on besan (chickpea flour) and often contains vegetable fritters called pakoras.

Paalak Ki Kadhi served with hot rice.

Coming back to Kadhi, I made this Kadhi a few days back when there was a snow storm.

Everybody was a home and we wanted something hot, healthy and comforting to eat for lunch.

Palak ki kadhi step by step

  1. Heat pan add 2 TBS OIL,When OIL heated add HING, CUMIN SEEDS, CURRY PATTA..

  2. Now add CHOPPED ONION and ginger garlic PASTE..

  3. Saute it for 3 to 4 Minute on slow flame..

  4. Add CHOPPED SPINACH and GREEN CHILLI. Mix it well..

  5. Add 1 CUP WATER and close the lid and cook it for about 7 to 8 min..

  6. In a large bowl add curd, besan.mix it well.add WATER and make thin PASTE..

  7. Add salt, RED CHILLI POWDER and TURMERIC POWDER. Mix it well..

  8. After 8 minute transfer besan mixture into PALAK mixture..

  9. Stir continuesly..

  10. When mixture start boiling reduce the flame and add WATER..

  11. Mix it well..

  12. Close the lid and cook it for about 10 to 15 min. On low flame..

  13. FOR TADKA heat 1 TBS OIL add HING, CUMIN, dry RED CHILLI and CURRY PATTA..

  14. Switch off the flame and add1/2 TS RED CHILLI POWDER along with 1 TBS WATER.tadka is ready..

  15. After 15 minutes stir kadhi.now add amchur POWDER and kasoori Methi..

  16. Mix it well..

  17. Pour TADKA over it and close the lid..

  18. Cook another 1 minute..

  19. Kadhi is ready to serve..

A bag of spinach in my fridge provoked me to try this delicious paalak ki kadhi.
