Healthy and yummy Palak kadhi. Palak Kadhi is an Indian main course dish made with fresh spinach leaves cooked with curd and besan (gram flour) curry. It is flavored with Indian spices and tempered with fried garlic & red chilis. Traditionally Kadhi is a dish consisting of a thick gravy based on besan (chickpea flour) and often contains vegetable fritters called pakoras.

Palak purée and green paste imparts a bright green colour and vitamin A to the dish.

Ingredients of Healthy and yummy Palak kadhi

  1. You need of chopped fresh palak(spinach).

  2. Prepare of besan/gram flour.

  3. You need of onion finely chop.

  4. You need of tomatoes finely chopped(u can skip it also).

  5. Prepare of ginger garlic paste.

  6. You need of Salt.

  7. Prepare of dhania(Coriander) and jeera(cumin) powder.

  8. You need of red chilli powder or to taste.

  9. Prepare of haldi/Turmeric powder.

  10. You need of garam masala.

  11. It’s of methi(fenugreek) seeds.

  12. Prepare of Jeera/cumin seeds.

  13. You need of Dry red chilli.

  14. Prepare of Hing/asafoetida.

  15. You need of Rai(mustard seed).

  16. You need of desi ghee.

  17. It’s of oil.

  18. It’s of besan/gram flour.

  19. You need of Spinach.

You can skip the garlic if you do not like its flavour.

Combine the curds and gram flour in a deep bowl and whisk till the mixture is smooth.

Keep aside; Heat the oil in a deep kadhai, and add the cumin seeds.

After having same recipes on daily basis, you may get bored.

Healthy and yummy Palak kadhi instructions

  1. Collect all ingredients.

  2. Heat oil in a steel pan(I use only steel pans and pressure cooker),add methi seeds,slit green chill.After one min add chopped onions and cook for 2 min then add ginger garlic paste and cook for some times..

  3. Add tomatoes to cooked onion.Cook for sometimes,add little water as we are using less oil so addition if water helps to cook nicely..

  4. Add chopped palak yo cooked tomato and cook well.Keep stirring..

  5. Once palak is cooked add curd and besan mixture(this mixture is like normal kadhi.Beat curd and besan first then add water.Add salt and haldi to this mixture.C ook on slow flame till its reduced to required consistency..

  6. Heat Appe pan and grease with little oil.,use brush to grease.Add seasonings to besan and add chopped palak.Mix with hands DONT add water.Make small balls and cook in appe pan covered.Keep changing sides so that all sides r cooked..

  7. Cook in appe pan..

  8. Add cooked palak balls to cooked kadhi and enjoy with steamed rice.A healthy and yummy meal..

  9. Tempering is optional. I have used little desi ghee and hing,jeera and rai plus dry red chilli for tempering.Pour tempering over kadhi or u can skip it also..

To make it QUICK recipe, I have used chopped spinach.

But if you want beautiful looking green color kadhi, you can add pureed spinach instead.
