It’s 1/2 cup of split moong dal.

It’s 1 teaspoon of ghee.

Prepare 3/4 cup of jaggery.

Prepare 1 cup of thin coconut milk.

You need 1/2 cup of thick coconut milk.

It’s 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder.

It’s 2 teaspoon of ghee.

Roast moong dal in pressure cooker or in any other vessel at low to medium heat for 4 - 5 minutes. Now add 1.5 cup water and 1 teaspoon ghee along with moong dal in pressure pressure cooker and cook it until three whistles. Let the pressure come down on its own..

Takeout cooked moong dal in a pot and mash it. Add half cup of water and 1.5 cup thin coconut milk to it and mix it well. Put the pot on medium heat and add jaggery to it. You can even add normal milk instead of coconut milk. Cook it for 8 to 10 minutes..

Now add half cup thick coconut milk and simmer it for 2 minutes. Dont cook it on high heat for too long otherwise coconut milk can split..

Turn off the heat and add cardamom powder to it. Now take some ghee in a pan and add all the chopped dry fruits to it and roast it on medium heat for a minute. Add it to the prepared payasam along with ghee. Let the payasam cool down at room temperature. Keep it in the refrigerator to make it cold..
