  6. You need 2 tablespoons of garam masala.

  7. It’s 1 tablespoon of red chilli of powder.

  9. You need 1 tablespoon of corriander of powder.

  10. You need 1 tsp of of yellow powder.

  11. It’s to taste of Salt.

  12. Prepare 1 cup of water of.

  16. You need 4 cloves of garlic.

  17. You need 1 inch of ginger.

Nadan Beef Curry is the traditional, home cooked beef curry of Kerala.

Anything labeled 'Nadan' means that it is traditional and true to its provincial roots.

This is a beef curry recipe that packs a tasty punch!

Kerala Beef Curry step by step

  1. Firstly grind small onions, chillies, garlic, ginger, curry leaves to a fine paste. Set aside.

  2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seed..

  3. After it splutters add onions.

  4. Cook until it gets brown. Add tomatoes and saute it till it gets smashed..

  5. Add the grinded paste and mix well..

  6. Add spices: garam masala, chili powder, curry powder, corriander powder and yellow powder and salt and heat it. Make sure it does not get burnt..

  7. Add beef and mix it well with the rest of the ingredients..

  8. Add water and put it for 2 steams on high flame followed by 6 steams on low flame..

  9. For seasoning, heat the oil and add mustard seed till it splutters..

  10. Add small onions, red chilli and curry leaves till it get brown..

  11. Switch off the flame and add this to the beef curry..

  12. Serve with rice. Enjoy!!.
