Rose petals and milk Kalakand. Kalakand is a very traditional and delicious dessert, made with whole milk, variation of burfi, and is soft and grainy in texture. Rose kalakand is a rose flavored kalakand made by adding rose essence and rose petals to the recipe. I made this recipe on the occasion of Rakshabandhan and it was a big hit.
I flavored the milk cake with rose water and studded with pistachios and almonds.
This version of kalakand is smoother in texture, but is just as deliciously lip-smacking.
All the ingredients, except the rose water and rose petals that you see in the images, were from my local grocery store.

You need 1 cup of dried rose petals.

You need 1/3 cup of sugar.

Prepare 11/2 cup of milk.

Prepare 1 cup of milk powder.

Prepare 1 cup of desiccated coconut.

It’s 3-4 drops of rose essence.

Prepare 1 tbsp of clarified butter.

It’s 2 tbsp of chopped dry fruits.
A huge pan is kept on a flame and large amount of milk is boiled stirring it continuously till it is thickened with sugar and dry fruits. [source wikipedia] Here the Kalakand is flavored with dried rose petals, dry fruits and Rooh Afza which plays as a rose essence for the sweet without leaving strong aroma like any other essence does.
The preserve is prepared adding Pink Rose petals with Sugar or Honey.
This helps to cool your body.
It is good for people having acidity problems.

In a pan add milk,sugar and rose petals boil it 5 mins the petals become soften and switch off the gas.

After 5-6 mins add milk powder,desiccated coconu and ghee and mix well then lit the gas and cook in slow flame..

Keep stirring well till the mixture becomes dry like a dough..

Before switching off the gas add chopped dry fruits and rose essence..

Place it in a grease flat container to get set..

Now cut the kalakand in desired shape and garnish with dry fruits and rose petals.

I have used Paneer which is cottage.
Once set, cut into desired shape pieces, sprinkle the saffron milk and garnish with slivered almonds-pistachios and dried rose petals.
In a non-stick pan combine paneer and condensed milk together and cook on medium low heat.
