Recipe: Eating on a Dime Mango Sandesh Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Mango Sandesh. Mango sandesh recipe has been lying in my drafts since the past four weeks. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am back from my break with a delicious, melt in the mouth, classic Bengali dessert that has the infusion of two of my favorite ingredients, chenna and ripe mango pulp. Mango Sandesh is a Mango twist of the classic Bengali sweet Sondesh. It is made by making fresh chenna and flavoring of mango puree.

Mango Sandesh is an iconic recipe of Sandesh which is immensely popular in India.

It is a summer dessert recipe prepared when fresh ripe mangoes are easily available in market.

So, it is also known as Aam Sandesh.

You can have Mango Sandesh using 9 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you cook that.

Ingredients of Mango Sandesh

  1. You need 250 gm of or 1 cup fresh paneer.

  2. Prepare 3/4 cup of mango puree (thick).

  3. You need 2 tbsp of condensed milk.

  4. You need 5-6 of almonds soaked in water.

  5. Prepare 12-15 of saffron strands.

  6. It’s 2 tbsp of milk for saffron soaking.

  7. It’s of For garnish.

  8. Prepare of Pistachios sliced.

  9. Prepare leaves of Mint.

This unbelievably easy dessert is the amalgamation of Indian Cottage Cheese (Chenna), Mango pulp and Sugar.

Mango Sandesh is a Fusion recipe prepared with mango pulp, milk, milk powder, vinegar and sugar.

It is prepared by curdling milk and forming chenna from it.

Mangoes are the best part of summer.

Mango Sandesh step by step

  1. First we will make fresh chena/paneer.

  2. Squeeze water from paneer.

  3. Take out paneer in a plate. mesh it with palm and make it smooth add 1 tbsp condensed milk and 1 tbsp sugar and knead well.

  4. Soak saffron in milk. Blanch and peel soaked almonds sliced it..

  5. In a pan add paneer mixture add remaining sugar and condensed milk add mango puree. Mix everything well.

  6. Add saffron milk. Add little more condensed milk if mango is not much sweet.

  7. Keep stirring on low medium flame..Else mixture will stick to pan..All this process will take around 10-15 minutes. But keep your eye on mixture and keep stirring else it will stick to pan. When mixture start leaves sides of pan and become thick in consistency switch off the flame..

  8. Let it cool and keep mixture out in a plate. Make mange sandesh in your desire shape..I gave it mango shape..To look more closer to mango I garnish it with pistachios slice and mint leaves..

Therefore, the combination of mangoes and traditional sandesh is quite irresistible.

This is a Mango twist of the classic Bengali Sondesh.

Traditionally sondesh is prepared by fresh chana (cottage cheese or paneer), sugar and cardamom powder.
