This is a Mango twist of the classic Bengali Sondesh.

You can cook Mango Sandesh / Mango peda using 6 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Mango Sandesh / Mango peda

  1. You need 1 of litre milk (here I have used double toned milk).

  2. It’s 5-6 of tbsp lemon juice.

  3. It’s 1 of medium sized ripe mango pulp/puree.

  4. You need 6 of tbsp sugar (can be changed according to sweetness of mango).

  5. You need 2 of tbsp milk powder.

  6. Prepare of as required Some dry fruits like cashew or almon for garnishing.

Traditionally sondesh is prepared by fresh chana (cottage cheese or paneer), sugar and cardamom powder.

In this Mango sondesh, I just added little mango puree within the fresh cottage cheese and sugar mixture for a mango twist.

Mango Sandesh / Mango peda instructions

  1. At first pour the milk into a pan in medium heat and bring it to boil..

  2. Then add the lemon juice gradually and stir the milk continiously. Then switch off the flame. After sometime it will curdle and chenna will form from it..

  3. Strain the water from the chenna and keep it under a heavyweight thing for 10 minutes to drain the excess water..

  4. Then take all the ingredients except dry fruits in a mixer grinder and blend for 1 minute to make a smooth paste..

  5. Pour the mixture into a pan and stir it continiously untill it becomes thick or a dough like consistency..

  6. Cool it for 10 minutes and put some oil in your palm to make round shaped mango peda or mango shaped mango sandesh..

  7. You can put the sweets in freeze for 30 minutes kust to set it. Enjoy it with your family…

Peda is a very popular traditional Indian milk-based sweet made with khoya or mawa or evaporated milk solids.
