The name 'efo' means vegetables, hence it is a Yoruba rich vegetable soup.

Even though the old recipe is good as it is, I have updated it a bit and I can tell you that this efo riro.
Vegetable soup….Efo riroš„µ instructions

Pour your palm oil into your pot.

Put in your sliced onions and stir and add your Scott bonnets and stir…fry for a while.

Add your seasoning cubes and salt to taste.

Add your locust beans and pomo which must have been washed.

Add your fish and stir….Do not add water… leave to fry.

Wash your vegetable and after a while add your vegetable to the mixture and stir.

Add vegetable little by little…. stir as you add.

Leave it to heat up for a while….do not burn.

And your vegetable is ready to go with anything.
Efo riro consists of different fresh leaf vegetables pureed with pepper, onion, locust bean, seasoning and salt to give a crisp and very vibrant colour.
Swallow meals tastes different when it's served with great vegetable soup.
Efo riro (vegetable soup) is also excellent with rice, agidi / eko (corn paste pudding), yam, plantain etc.
