This is my tomato sauce version of mung beans.
I don't like alot of spice in my Ndengu, I'd rather have all the natural flavors and taste of the ndengus in my soup.
You can have Stewed Ndengu- green grams using 7 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you cook it.
Ingredients of Stewed Ndengu- green grams

You need 200 g of green grams.

You need 1 tbsp of tomato paste.

You need 1 of chopped onion.

It’s 2 of chopped tomatoes.

You need 1 tbsp of royco.

You need 1/2 tsp of salt.

You need 2 tbsp of oil.
I got some Pre-Cooked green grams samples from Nairobean.
Put aside and let it cool before mashing.
In a separate pan, fry onions till tender.
Add garlic and continue frying for two minutes.
Stewed Ndengu- green grams step by step

Sort out and wash the green grams.then put in presuure cooker to boil..

It should boil for 30minutes then in a another put the two tbsp of oil and begin frying the chopped onions..

Then add the chopped tomatoes and fry till soft.

Then add the tomato paste and mix very well.

The add salt and royco which has been dissolved in water.

Mix and stir, then add the boiled greengrams and continue stirring..

Add water depending on the consistency you want or the soup you want.

Then serve hot..
Add curry powder, tomatoes and salt.
Stir briefly and cover with lid.
Let it cook for three minutes.
Add ndengu and the milk and stir.
It is a very satisfying meal.
