Dal Fry is a delicious and lip smacking bowl of health that is a daily dish in most of the Indian homes.
This dal fry recipe is made of chana dal or split bengal grams and is usually thicker than the daily dal.

Soak dal for 10 minutes and pressure cook dal with little salt and turmeric and 2 cups water upto 3 whistles.Release pressure after 2 minutes.Fry few curry leaves and set aside.Heat ghee and sprinkle asafoetida, mustard and cumin seeds.When they crackle,fry 2 dry red chillies and set aside.Fry minced ginger and garlic till light brown.Then add chopped onion and fry till transparent..
