The masala idli is made by giving little twist to your regular plain idli.

Masala Idli instructions

Wash and Soak rice and all Dall in water separately for 6 hours..

After six hours grind Daal and rice in a mixer. Grind oats, salt and add curd with it..

Transfer the mixture in a bowl. Add chopped coriander leaves. Add eno fruit salt and mix well..

Heat 1 glass water in a pressure cooker. Grease idli mould. And place one tb spoon mixture in each mould. Put it in pre heated cooker and place the lid. Remove weight from the lid. Cook in steam for 12 minutes..

Open the lid after 20 minutes and with the help of knife take out idli in a plate..

Heat oil in a karahi and put mustard seeds and when mustard seeds splutter put curry leaves and red chilli powder. Mix well. Masala idli is ready to serve..
You can serve this as lunch, snack or salad.
To make masala idli I am using the rava idli witch is quick and easy to make.
This also makes a great lunch box meal as it is very healthy and satisfying.
