Amba Dal. Amba dal is made from mashed channa dal mixed with raw, grated mango and fresh coconut tempered with mustard and green chillies. Amba dal is also known as Ambe dal or Ambyachi dal in Marathi. This is a very popular dal especially made with raw mangoes which has an amazing sour taste that complements well with the dal.

This dry dal is traditionally eaten with refreshing kairi panha.

Delicious amba dal is made by combining grounded chana dal, grated raw mangoes and grated fresh coconut.

It is spicy, tangy and slightly sweet in taste.

Amba Dal step by step

  1. Soak Chana dal 1 cup for 6 hours in 5 cup of water.

  2. After 6 hours remove all water.

  3. In that chana dal add salt, sugar, jeera, Green chili and grind in mixer coarsely.

  4. After in that add 1 cup fresh grated coconut, coriander leaves and 1/2 Cup kacchi kairi (Raw kairi).

  5. Mix thoroughly all ingredients.

  6. Heat pan.after crackling put 2 tablespoon oil and add mustard seeds, jeera, Curry leaves,haldi, hing.

  7. Put this takda mixture in our above Chana dal mixture and mix thoroughly.

  8. This over awesome tasty dish is ready for serve for prasad.

  9. You can add all above ingredients as per your taste of sour and tikha.
