This healthy street-food curry can be eaten on its own and goes well with.
Vegetable salna / Vegetable gravy is a perfect side dish recipe for Parotta and also goes very well with chapathi, Idli and Dosa.

Ingredients of Vegetable Salna

This is the most famous and most ordered recipe in small hotels called " Thallu Vandi " in Tamil Nadu and is one of my favorite recipe too.
Salna is a Tamil word I guess.
Plain salna is also popularly known as empty salna.
Empty salna is nothing but plain tomato based masala gravy without vegetables.
Vegetable Salna instructions

Take tawa add oil add onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, all masala powder to cook for 7 minutes..

In a cooker pour oil add bay leaves, cardamom, cloves, chinnamon and all the vegetables cook for 4 whistle..

Coconut, Cashew nut, Poppy seeds and fried gram in a mixi jar in fine paste..

Add the paste with vegetables and cook again. Add coriander leaves. Veg salna ready to serve..
Its so flavorful and tastes great not only with parotta but also with idli, dosa, chapathi and idiyappam.
You can use this salna for making kothu parotta.
Salna is a spicy, delicious side dish served with parotta in road side hotels of Tamil nadu(Kai endhi bhavan).
It is very popular in Madurai.
