Gobhi Matar Ka Keema- Most of us love the beautiful,delicious and versatile vegetable-cauliflower and is also a favorite veggie of my family. I often make stir fries,curries and parathas with cauliflower.

This Cauliflower kheema curry is a dry preparation that is served as side dish with flat bread of your choice using minced cauliflower and fresh green peas.

This is a vegetarian version of the famed Keema (minced lamb) Matar.

Ingredients of Matar makhana Gobhi keema

  1. You need 1 of & 1/2 cup boiled peas.

  2. It’s 2 cup of Fox nut/ Makhana.

  3. Prepare 1 of cauliflower grated.

  4. You need 2 of onion cuted in julians.

  5. Prepare 5 of tomatoes.

  6. Prepare 1/2 cup of khoya/ Mawa.

  7. Prepare 2 tbsp of poppy seeds/ khaskhas.

  8. It’s 2 tbsp of coconut powder.

  9. Prepare 1 piece of cinnamon.

  10. It’s 2 of black cardmom.

  11. You need 1 tsp of cumin seeds.

  12. Prepare 1 tsp of garam masala powder.

  13. Prepare 1 tbsp of butter.

  14. It’s 1/2 cup of cream/malai.

  15. You need 2 of bay leaf.

  16. Prepare 4 of cloves.

  17. You need 1/2 tsp of sugar.

  18. You need 1 tsp of turmeric.

  19. You need 2 tbsp of coriander powder.

  20. You need 1 tsp of red chilli powder.

  21. Prepare 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste.

  22. Prepare 3 of onion cuted in julians.

  23. You need 2 tbsp of coriander leaves finely chopped.

  24. You need as needed of Oil.

  25. You need 3/4 cup of hot water.

Gobhi Keema recipe is an different recipe in which we used the fine chopped gobi.

We have cooked this Gobhi Keema recipe with matar (peas), which are used in boiled form.

We have also add Malai in.

Khoya matar makhana is a special curry and we were introduced to this exotic sounding curry when we shifted to Banaras after my dad's transfer from Chandigarh.

Matar makhana Gobhi keema step by step

  1. Firstly fry onions and grind it.now fry or roast the fox nuts..

  2. Afterthat heat the 2 tbsp oil in a pan and saute the grated cauliflower for 5 minutes on medium flame.Make soup from tomatoes(boil with some water+grind it).make a paste of poppy seeds and coconut powder..

  3. Afterthat heat 4-5 tbsp oil. Add cinnamon,black cardmom, bay leaf,cloves and cumin seeds. Splutter cumin seeds.now add poppy seeds and coconut powder paste,cook for 5 minutes on low flame.afterthat add ginger garlic paste,cook it for 1minute.add onion paste cook it for 4-5 minutes on low flame..

  4. Now add coriander, turmeric and red chilli powder.mix it and cook it for 2 minutes. Afterthat add tomato soup and khoya.(I used homemade) cook it for 3 minutes. Add peas and mix it..

  5. After that add cauliflower and mix it.now add hot water.mix it and make a boil.now add fox nut and mix it. Add cream/ malai and mix it..

  6. Now add butter and sugar.mix it.add salt and garam masala powder,mix it.garnish with coriander leaves..

Somehow my mother never made this khoya matar makhana but she would often make a version of matar paneer that was close to the original khoya matar.

In fact many Banaras families make.
