Mutton mince with peas.(Qeema Mattar)fry. Mutton Matar Keema is a quintessential dish in every Muslim home especially during Ramadan. Minced Mutton slowly cooked with whole spices and lots of fresh green peas is a perfect side dish to your meal and certainly a show stopper in every Ramadan get together parties. I love to add potatoes in my keema matar, but one can always avoid it if you don't like it.

Right before serving, add peas. (See tip) Serve with rice, cauliflower rice or Naan bread, garnished with coriander leaves if desired. * Can also be made with beef mince or a mixture of lamb and mutton mince for a milder flavour.

To prepare the Keema Matar, clean, rinse and pat dry the mutton mince.

  10. You need 1 tsp of dry fenugreek(kusuri methi).

  11. You need 4-5 Tbsp of Oil.

In a pressure cooker heat oil over medium heat.

Add bay leaf and once aroma of bay leaf is released add the chopped onion and green chili.

Fry over medium heat till onion turn dark brown in color.

Add ginger garlic paste along with a tablespoon or two of water.

  1. Boil mince for 15-20 mints. Drain out extra water.add 1/2tsp salt..

  2. Put oil in the pan, add mince and fry till its colour change to pink..

  3. Add onion fry till onion is golden.fry on medium low flame..

  4. Add black cumin, chilli powder, salt and tomatoes. 1 cup water. Cover and cook on low flame..

  5. Water dries, fry for few mints, tomatoes tender.add Kusuri methi. Boil peas, green chilli and fresh coriander leaves. Put on dum for 5-10 min:..

Add this puree to the pan.

Fry the tomato and onion mixture.

Take ginger and garlic and grind them to a fresh paste.

Fresh paste gives an awesum flavour.

Add this paste to the minced mutton.
