Raw banana curry in green masala. Raw banana masala curry - A simple spicy aratikaya masala kura to go with rice or chapathi. I use raw banana at home at least once a week since it is protein rich and it is my kids' favorite. But most times i end up making a simple curry and this is one of the ways i make.

This raw banana curry (or green plantain curry if using plantains also known as cooking bananas) using raw green bananas or green plantains uses coconut, spices and green mung beans.

This makes a very easy and yummy South Indian Kerala style vegetarian curry that goes great with rice for lunch or dinner.

  1. You need of raw bananas cut slant slices.

  2. You need of Jeera /cumin seeds.

  3. It’s of medium size tomatoes cut into thin semicircles.

  4. It’s of oil.

  5. You need of Jeera(cumin) Powder.

  6. You need of kitchen king masala.

  7. It’s of Salt.

  8. Prepare of For the green masala paste.

Chop onions, slit green chillies and peel the skin of garlic.

Peel the skin of raw bananas and cut them into medium sized pieces.

Heat oil in a kadai add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, bengal gram and black gram.

When they start spluttering add red chillies.

Raw banana curry in green masala instructions

  1. Grind the chopped coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger garlic paste and grated coconut into a fine paste.

  2. Heat oil in a kadai add jeera when it leaves aroma add the sliced tomatoes cook till all tomatoes are mashed,add the green green masala paste cook for a few mins on high flame then add jeera powder and kitchen king masala and cook till oil leaves the sides. Add water as required for the gravy if you want thick gravy add less water if thin gravy add more water. When the water boils add the sliced bananas,salt, cover and cook on medium flame till the bananas are cooked..

Add garlic, curry leaves and green chillies.

Heat oil in a non stick heavy base skillet.

Add salt, red pepper powder and turmeric powder.

Add the ground masala, mix gently and add a little of the water from the mixie.

Adjust consistency of the curry as desired (if you wish to eat it with chapathis, then keep a semi dry consistency).
