Ingredients of Vegetable Masala Upma

  1. Prepare 200 grams of Wheat semolina /Bombay sooji.

  5. Prepare 1 cup of Mint leaves curry leaves, coriander leaves-altogether.

  7. It’s 6-8 of Green chillies.

  8. You need 1 inch of Ginger.

  9. You need 1 tsp each of Garam masala and Chat masala.

  10. Prepare 1 tsp each of Mustard, Cumin seeds, turmeric powder-1tsp each.

  11. Prepare 1 tsp each of Bengal gram, Black gram.

  12. Prepare To taste of Salt.

  13. You need Sufficient of water to cook.

Notes: In case you want to make plain upma minus the vegetables,all the steps remain the same ,just that you skip the process of adding the boiled vegetables.

Masala upma, which is also known as kharabath, for example, includes vangibath powder or sambar masala or garam masala as well as red chili powder.

  1. Dry roast semolina on sim heat in a pan, Keep it aside. Clean and cut all Vegetables, chilli, ginger and leafy vegetables..

  2. Heat the oil in the pan, season with mustard, cumin seeds, Bengal, black gram, then add green chillies, ginger and all cut vegetables roast well untill they become soft..

  3. Add turmeric, chat masala, garam masala, leafy vegetables, add sufficient water to boil. When water starts boiling add salt, lemon juice and semolina, stir well on sim heat until it gets cooked well. When it starts leaving the pan turn off heat, Semolina upma is ready..
