In this recipe I made katoris or basket with potatoes, but there is another variation of the katori chaat.. sprouted moong chaat and aloo palak chaat.

In a large bowl, put sprouted Moong, Matki and Chana.

You can use the sprouts without steaming if you choose so.

Now add chopped Green Chilies, Black Salt, red Chili Powder and Chaat Masala.

Chatpata sprouted moong and Aaloo katori step by step

  1. To make the filling, in a pan add 2 teaspoons oil, once hot add the chopped onion, green chili and saute, then add boiled chopped potatoes and Boiled Sprouted green moong and mix. Then add all the masalas and salt mentioned under the sprout mix filling section. Add half a cup water and boil for 5 minutes. Lastly add lemon juice and coriander leaves mix and switch off the stove and add few raw moong sprouts and mix for the crunchiness and keep the filling aside to cool..

  2. Take whole wheat flour and rava, little slat and 1/4 cup oil and mix till it holds shape. Then add little by little water and make a firm and soft dough.rest for 10 minutes.

  3. Then take small balls of the dough and roll them into small circles like poori. Prick these rolled circles with a fork. Then press these to a small bowl and remove the edges.

  4. Put these bowls in hot oil and fry. The bowl will get sepertaed in a small while, then remove it and fry the katoris till crisp and keep aside..

  5. To assemble, take a fried Katori, add the moong filling in it, top it with some chopped onion, Coriander leaves. Sprinkle some chat masala and red chili powder and place a fried Kaju on it..

Add some chopped Coriander Leaves and Salt to taste.

I wanted him to have sprouts and tried to make it the chaat style.
