Recipe: Eating on a Dime Yamrita Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Yamrita. Yamarita is just easy and delicious. I decided to serve with tomato stew. You can also serve with egg sauce, ketchup or even Monica sauce.

Most people serve yamarita with special dips or stews.

Our first recipe is Yamarita and Pepper Sauce and I will be giving you my personal twist on making the otherwise basic yam and pepper sauce.

It has become a menu item in my house that my husband and children always request.

You can cook Yamrita using 6 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Yamrita

  1. Prepare of Yam.

  2. Prepare of Egg.

  3. Prepare of Pepper and spices.

  4. Prepare of Garlic and ginger.

  5. It’s of Salt.

  6. You need of Oil.

It is so easy to prepare, just follow the simple steps and you are on your way to enjoying the tantalizing dish of.

Yamarita,also known as Dun Dun Oniyeri, is simply thinly sliced Par-boiled/blanched yams dipped into whisked egg+flour& fried until crispy.

The difference between Yamarita and the common fried yams (dun dun) is the egg and flour mix, which takes this easy meal to another level.

It is so easy to prepare, that you can make it as a snack or quick meal.

Yamrita instructions

  1. Peel d yam wash and add little salt and boil.

  2. In a clean bowl beak d eggs add ginger, garlic and spice beat very well.

  3. Put frying pan on fire and pour little oil.

  4. Put d yam into d egg mix ture and fry until golden brown, your yamrita is ready.

Yamarita, also known as "Dundun Oniyeri" was one of my best meals from TFC (Tastee Fried Chicken) back then in Nigeria.

Made from flour coated boiled Yam, this meal was an absolute delight!

Came across the recipe a while back and regretted not being in the know earlier as this would have saved me money spent binging on it back then.

Just as with fish, prawns or any kind of seafood, you roll the yam in flour, dip it in egg and fry.

As simple as that, and very sophisticated too.
