Recipe: Appetizing Peppered Goat Meat (Asun) Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Peppered Goat Meat (Asun). Peppered Goat Meat, commonly known as Asun in Nigeria, is a finger-licking, lip-smacking combination of roasted goat meat sautéed in spicy habanero and red bell peppers, that is so delicious, you'll almost be tempted to eat it all in one sitting! Cut the goat meat into big chunks. Make sure you cut the chunks with the goat skin.

Asun is typically made with Smoked Goat Meat but that's not easy to come by in these parts so, we usually settle for raw goat meat.

If you're able to get Smoked then by all means, use it.

Asun is also made using just Scotch Bonnet peppers (Atarodo) but that only works in Nigeria.

You can cook Peppered Goat Meat (Asun) using 6 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook that.

Asun is simply smoked/grilled/roasted peppered goat meat.

It is classified as a "Nigerian Small chop" and served at parties as an appetizer, alongside other finger foods.

Just as the name implies, Asun is "spicy", as in "pepperish" and deliciously irresistible (even before the first bite); seriously, you'll want your fork/hands/teeth on them just at first.

Peppered Goat Meat (Asun) instructions

  1. Wash goat meat and parboil with little fresh pepper and onions and 2 cube of knorr, once its cooked and tender, turn off heat and set aside.

  2. Heat up another pot preferably frying pan and add veg oil once its hot, fry goat meat and set aside.

  3. Reduce oil from the frying pan and add onions after 2minutes, add pepper, salt and the remaining knorr cube then add fried goat meat and stir everything together.

  4. Allow it fry through for about 5minutes then turn off heat and serve.

When the meat it well grilled/broiled, heat the vegetable oil in a dry clean pot.

Add the pepper and the thick stock from cooking the meat (if any) and fry for a bit.

Stir very well till the pepper is evenly distributed on the goat meat.

The vegetable oil ensures that this happens and gives the Asun a nice glow.
