Ingredients of Idli Sambhar

  1. It’s of semolina.

  2. It’s of curd.

  3. It’s of Eno.

  4. It’s of For sambhar.

  5. You need of arhar daal.

  6. Prepare of bottle gourd.

  7. You need of capsicum.

  8. It’s of Green peas.

  9. You need of chopped carrot.

  1. Take semolina, salt and curd in a bowl and mix well. Keep it aside for 30 min..

  2. For sambhar take chopped veggies and daal in a cooker. Put salt and turmeric in it. Cook it for 10 min on low flame. Now add sambhar masala, kitchen king masala and tamarind pulp to it. Cook again for 5 - 7 min. For tadka heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves in it. Pour it into sambhar. Cover it and keep aside..

  3. Now beat idli batter well. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Pour this tadka to idli batter. Add salt and eno to batter.Now grease idli moulds and fill batter to moulds. Microwave it for 4 min. Idli is ready. Serve it with sambhar..

As I said this is my MIL's recipe.

Before marriage for me, sambar means, only with dal.

But this was new to me when I went to my husband's home.

This goes well with idli and dosa.
