Ingredients of Beetroot Upma

  1. You need 1 of beetroot peeled and grated.

  2. It’s 100 g of suji.

  3. Prepare 1 of onion chopped.

  4. It’s 2 of green chillies chopped.

  5. Prepare 1 of small piece ginger grated.

  6. It’s 1 of spring curry leaves.

  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp of panch phutan.

  8. You need Pinch of turmeric powder.

  9. You need to taste of salt.

  10. Prepare 2 tsp of oil.

  11. Prepare 1 tsp of ghee.

  12. Prepare 200 ml of water.

Beetroot Upma instructions

  1. Heat a pan and dry roast the suji for 2 minutes. Keep it aside..

  2. Heat oil in a kadhai. Add panch phutan, onion, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves and saute for 30 seconds..

  3. Add beetroot, salt, turmeric powder and fry it for 1 minute. Add water and cover it..

  4. When water starts boiling, add suji slowly and cook till water is absorbed. Reduce the flame and add ghee. Mix it well and turn off the flame..

  5. Pour the upma onto a greased plate and spread it all over gently with equal pressure. Cut it with the help of a cutter mould for an appealing shape..

  6. Now serve it with curd, coconut chutney, sambar or anything of your choice..

Rava Upma with a healthy twist- Beetroot & Sprout Upma.

Add the roasted beetroot (blended) and stir well to mix evenly.
