I tried to enhance my Upma with a special ingredient and the flavour came out wonderful.
This matar upma recipe has lightly roasted semolina cooked in crackling mustard seeds, curry leaves, onion, green chillies and green peas.
Garnished with boiled green peas, coriander and curry leaves, this matar upma looks simply scrumptious!

Ingredients of Beet upma

Prepare 1/2 cup of rawa roasted.

You need 2 of chopped onion.

Prepare 1/2 of chopped beet.

You need 1/2 of chopped capsicum.

It’s 1/2 of chopped tomatoes.

Prepare 1/2 inch of crushed ginger.

It’s 2 of chopped green chillies.

Prepare 4-5 of curry leaves.

It’s 1 tsp of cumin and mustard seeds.

You need 1 pinch of Asafoetida.

It’s 4 spoon of oil.

Prepare 1 spoon of ghee.

Prepare as needed of chopped coriander leaves.

Himalayan Millet And Beet Upma With Walnut Chutney *I have used Finger Millet, Amaranth and Barnyard Millet.
Heat a pan and add ghee.
Temper mustard seeds, add sliced onions and saute.
Beet upma step by step

First heat oil in pan add cumin and mustard seed and aesofetidea and let it crackle…add green chillies and curry leaves..

Now add chopped onion let it saute…then add chopped capsicum, beet and tomato and cook till all veggies soften and add crushed ginger.

Now add suji and dry roast will all fried veggies add 1 tsp salt and add water accordingly….

Cook till suji absorbs water and becomes thick..now add tdpn sugar and ghee and mix.

Garnish it with coriander leaves…serve hot.
Follow by adding curry leaves, salt and the Himalayan millets.
Dry roast the millets with other ingredients.
Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds.
Once it's spluttered add chopped onion sauté till light brown color then add ginger, green chilli and curry leaves and sauté gently.
I make this for breakfast as well as for dinner sometimes.
