Kerala Style Rava Uppumavu (Semolina Upma) is not very moist, but a dry form without sticking together - a grainy structure.
In Kerala most of us don't add vegetables like green peas, beans and carrot pieces like usual South Indian Upma.
But when I make upma I use finely chopped carrots and coconut which makes upma very yummy, it's optional.
Upma is one of the most easiest breakfast and can be done in a jiffy.

Heat oil and ghee in a pan add mustard seed let it splutter then add chanadhal and urad dal hing with onions and cook well with a pinch of salt..

Now add one cup of boiled Beetroot puree with a pinch of salt and cook well..

Now add three cups of water bring it to a boil with salt to taste for the rava..

Now slowly add rava constantly stirring it while adding the rava close and cook till it becomes soft and all the rava comes together. Serve with chutney of your choice..
