Khadhi pakoda. Kadhi pakora is often made at our home, but I just could not manage myself to take step by step photos and thats why it took me so long to share this delicious Punjabi kadhi recipe. We love kadhis, be it plain or with pakoras. At home we call it kadhi chawal, because the kadhi is had with plain rice or jeera rice. you can also have kadhi with roti but I always prefer to have kadhi with rice. kadhi pakora recipe

Punjabi Kadhi Pakora is one of the most popular North Indian dishes!

Deep fried fritters (pakora) are dunked in a yogurt based curry made with besan (gram flour) and spices!

You can cook Khadhi pakoda using 20 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Khadhi pakoda

  1. It’s of ingredients for pakoda.

  2. Prepare 1/2 cup of besan/gram flour.

  3. It’s Pinch of asafoetida.

  4. You need 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder.

  5. It’s To taste of Salt.

  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Ajwain/carom seeds.

  7. It’s of Ingredients for kadhi.

  8. Prepare 4 spoons of besan/ gram flour.

  9. You need 2 cup of Curd.

  10. It’s 1 1/2 tsp of oil.

  11. You need 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.

  12. You need 4-5 of cloves.

  13. Prepare 2 of Asine star.

  14. You need 2 tsp of Curry leaves.

  15. It’s 1 tbsp of Ginger garlic and chilli paste.

  16. Prepare to taste of Salt.

  17. You need 1 tsp of turmeric powder.

  18. Prepare 1 tsp of Dhania /coriander powder.

  19. Prepare 1 tbsp of Coriander leaves finely chopped.

  20. Prepare 4 glass of Water.

I am sharing my absolute favorite way to make the best Punjabi Kadhi Pakora at home.

When you eat kadhi, each spoonful should have some creamy sauce, soft textured pakora and crisp toasty cumin seeds and mustard seeds.

There should be a lot of flavor and texture in each bite.

The red tadka that you see drizzled kinda haphazardly on top of the kadhi does have a touch of south Indian flavor to it.

Khadhi pakoda instructions

  1. Take all material of pakoda and mix it well by adding water to it. Make a thick batter of it. Heat oil in a pan. Make tiny size pakoda on medium flame of this batter. Now keep it aside..

  2. Take curd and add besan and water to it. Blend it with hand mixy. Now add turmeric,dhania powder,salt,curry leaves,ginger garlic chilli paste to it. Boil it on medium flame for 15 minutes..

  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds,cloves and asin star to it. Add asafoetida to it. Put this tadka on khadi. Also add pakoda and mix it well. Sprinkle coriander leaves. Our scrumptious khadhi pakoda is ready. Serve it with stem rice and enjoy this drooling dish..
