  1. Prepare of fine roasted sooji(semolina).

  2. You need of curd.

  3. You need of refined oil.

  4. You need of salt.

  5. You need of sugar to taste.

Baked sooji dhokla or savory semolina cake squares are loaded with the goodness of veggies and make a great warm breakfast, snack or party appetizer.

Savory semolina cake step by step

  1. Pour roasted semolina in a bowl and add curd,the grated and chopped ingredients,salt and sugar to taste,turmeric,1 tbsp oil,baking powder and mix all with water to make a thick batter.Set aside for 10 minutes..

  2. Meanwhile add little oil in a wok and sprinkle mustard seeds.When they splutter,fry the curry leaves.Add it to the batter.Grease a micro safe round bowl with oil.Now add the Eno fruit salt to the batter.Mix thoroughly and pour the batter in the bowl.Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and bake for 5-7 minutes.Check with inserting a sharp knife.If it comes out clean then its done..

  3. Another option is to grease a cake pan with oil and bake at 350°in a pre-heated oven for 30 minutes approximately..

  4. Wait for sometime then turn over the cake on a plate.Cut into pieces and serve with salsa sauce or hot and sweet tomato sauce..
