Recipe: Tasty Sweet Potato Vrat Halwa Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Sweet Potato Vrat Halwa. A healthy, delicious sweet potato halwa recipe! This makes a perfect dessert for Hindu fasting (vrat or upvas). This halwa/sheera is made from boiled, mashed sweet potatoes, milk, and sugar.

Usually sweet potatoes or shakarkandi are used in making chaat or are popular during the fasting days.

I always add them in the fruit chaat as the boiled sweet potatoes gives a nice sweet taste to the chaat. the Sweet potato chaat is also served outside schools and colleges in north India as a popular street food.

The halwa can be prepared in two ways - either by grating the sweet potatoes.

Press the sauté button and add the besan to the instant pot.

Remove the besan from the pot and set it aside in a bowl for now.; Add the sweet potatoes and water to the pot.

I make the vrat ka halwa similar to making rava kesari or sooji halwa.

The flours have to be roasted well in ghee to get a good aroma, texture and taste.

Suji Halwa The next best thing after wheat is semolina or suji or rava to make a delicious halwa.
