Denise's crockpot chili instructions

  1. In a large skillet cook the beef, onion, and garlic together until the meat is no longer pink.

  2. Drain off any excess fat and place in the crockpot.

  3. Sir in flour, cocoa, salt, sugar, chili powder, oregano and tomato paste.

  4. Sir in all other ingredients; cover and cook on low for 4 hours.

  5. If you would like the chili thicker, uncover and cook another hour.

  6. Remove the bay leaf before serving.

  7. You could use the instant pot for the above cooking. I prefer to do the above steps in a regular pan on the stove top, then add all ingredients to the instant pot. If cooking in instant pot, cook time is 18 minutes set on manual. At end of time, quick release the steam..

I love soup and I made this and love it!!

It's easy cause it's made in a crockpot and doesn't disappoint.

I usually cook mine overnight, then even allow it to cook part of the day before turning it to warm. ***It can also be cooked on the stove, if you need it to get done sooner.
