Sooji halwa. Suji ka halwa or Sheera is a classic Indian semolina pudding made with sugar, ghee and dry fruits. The recipe I have shared is a family heirloom recipe. We have been making this suji halwa recipe for decades during family get togethers, special occasions & festivals.
Sooji ka halwa was made in home whenever we wanted to have something sweet.

It’s 1 cup of semolina (sooji/rava).

Prepare 1 cup of sugar.

Take sooji in a pan,add ghee n roast it over medium flame until golden brown..

Now slowly add boiled water n mix by stirring constantly, stir n cook to avoid any lumps formation..

Now add sugar n cardamom powder, stir until sugar dissolves and it has a semi solid consistency..

Lastly add all the dry fruits n give a nice mix sooji halwa is ready to serve garnish with sliced almonds..
During festivals -Navratra Puja aka Navratri Puja or Durga Puja, Vijayadashmi aka Dusshera, Diwali etc Suji Halwa is served along with other festive food items - Puri, Kala Chana, Aloo Ki Sabji, Jeera Aloo and Boondi Raita or Kaddu Raita (Pumpkin Raita).
