Ingredients of Halwai style modak

  1. You need 1 cup of plain flour.

  2. It’s 1/2 cup of desi ghee.

  3. You need 1 cup of sugar.

  4. Prepare 1/2 cup of milk powder.

  5. You need 1/2 cup of water.

  6. You need 1/2 cup of mix dry fruits.

  7. It’s 1/2 cup of organic crushed jaggery.

  8. It’s 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder.

Shape the modak- Take a small portion of the dough in palms and roll into a round ball and then press to spread in to a circular disc.

Put a teaspoon of the filling in the center.

Bring all the edges towards the center while shaping the modak and seal it properly.

  1. Take a wok put ghee and heat on medium flame..

  2. Add flour cook it till little change colour. Switch off the flame and keep aside..

  3. Take a pan add jaggery and 2tablespoons of water. Now jaggery is melt add chopped dry fruits cook for 2minutes. Switch off the flame..

  4. Take a another pan add water and sugar cook till bubbles come and syrup consistency in 1/3thread..

  5. Take flour mixture add milk powder mix it well on low flame now add sugar syrup in it. Stir well and cook for 2minutes. The consistency will be dough foam. Cool it for 5minutes..

  6. Take a modak mould grease with ghee. Add dough mixture in a modak mould. In the center add jaggery, dry fruits filling and cover it properly. Open the mould. Modak is ready..

  7. Take a serving plate put modaks in it. Garnish it with jaggery dry fruits..

Fill the Modak mold with the prepared mawa-malai mixture and press the mixture, scrape extra mixture and open the mold gently.

Place them on to the plate and garnish with saffron strands.
