Semolina/Rwa Halwa. Suji ka halwa or Rawa halwa is an Indian dessert made with semolina/rawa, ghee (clarified butter) and sugar. It is one of the most loved and frequently made sweet pudding in India. Suji halwa is also known as Sheera in Maharastra and Mohan Bhog in North India.

Ingredients of Semolina/Rwa Halwa

  1. You need 200 gm of semolina/rava.

  2. Prepare 150 gm of Ghee.

  3. You need 200 gm of Sugar.

  4. It’s 5 of Almonds (badam), sliced.

  5. You need 5 of Cashew nuts (kaju), chopped.

  6. You need 1/4 teaspoon of Cardamom Powder.

  7. Prepare 250 ml of water.

Sooji is used in northern parts of India and Pakistan to make sooji halwa.

To make this batter, sooji is mixed with butter, sugar, milk and pine nuts and heated in a pan for some time to take it to a certain level of.

Semolina/Rwa Halwa instructions

  1. Take a kadhai, heat ghee in a medium flame, add semolina, stir continuously using a spatula to avoid burning, roast it until golden brown.

  2. Roast it until brown.it will take 8-10 minutes.

  3. Set flame to low, and slowly add water, stir continuously to avoid lump. first, add water in a small quantity.

  4. Add sugar and cook until all water gets absorbed then add Cardamom powder.

  5. When it will look semi-solid consistency, add almonds and cashew.

Usually sooji ka halwa is made with sooji and sugar but i used jaggery as it gives really nice color and great flavor to halwa.
