This is my version of a healthy cookies recipe with Whole Wheat Flour, Oats and Ragi Flour.

This recipe is also great for those looking to bake egg-free and refined flour free biscuits at home.

You can have Healthy Chocolate and Ragi cookies using 10 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Healthy Chocolate and Ragi cookies

  1. It’s 1/2 cup of Ragi Flour/Finger millet flour.

  2. You need 1/2 cup of Whole Wheat Flour /ata.

  3. It’s 2 tbsp of cocoa powder.

  4. Prepare 1/4 tsp of Baking Powder.

  5. Prepare 1/2 cup of Sugar.

  6. It’s 1 tsp of Vanilla Essence.

  7. You need 1/2 cup of Butter.

  8. It’s of Milk as required.

  9. You need pinch of Salt.

  10. It’s of Almond as required for garnishing.

Nowadays many of us prefer millet flour, whole wheat flour or multi-grain flour over all-purpose.

Healthy Double Chocolate Chip Ragi Cookies What is Ragi / Finger Millet?

Ragi is a millet which has been touted as the super grain of india when infant its a very ancient grain which has been cultivated from centuries.

It is quite a staple in the southern part of India.

Healthy Chocolate and Ragi cookies step by step

  1. At first, preheat the oven to 180 deg C for 10 minutes. Now Sieve the ragi flour, wheat flour,cocoa powder, baking powder and salt together and keep it ready..

  2. Then take the butter in a bowl it should be at room temperature. Then add sugar. Mix well until the sugar is completely melted..

  3. Add this butter sugar mix along with dry ingredients and add. vanilla essence.now mix the dough with your hands gently until you get the soft dough consistency. Add 1 to 2 tbsp of milk if required..

  4. Once the dough ready keep the dough in the refrigerator for about 20 mins. In the meantime, line the cookie tray with a cookie sheet/parchment paper. After 20 mins, take the cookie dough from the refrigerator and start making balls and flatten it..

  5. Arrange the cookies, garnish with nuts,and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes at 180° C till cookies are browned at the bottom. Allow to cool in the tray for 5 minutes and serve the cookies..

Its used extensively in Karnataka in making dosas, flatbreads and Muddes(ragi balls) along with sambhar and chuteny.
