Ingredients of Gajak

Prepare 1 cup of Roasted Sesame Seeds.

It’s 1/2 cup of Jaggery grated.

It’s 4 tbsp of Ghee.

Prepare 4 tbsp of Water.
Roast sesame seeds in a heavy pan, till they feel light and pinkish.
Melt jaggery over low heat, in a large heavy pan.
Add Ghee, cardamom, stir gently till smooth.
Pour into tray, allow to cool till warm.

In a heavy bottom kadhai roast sesame seeds on medium flame till it turns brown in colour. Keep stirring continuously so that it doesnt gets burn. Switch off the flame and keep aside to cool down. Once cooled, coarsely grind it and keep aside..

Grease the plate with ghee and keep aside..

Heat up the ghee in deep kadhai and add jaggery to it. Let jaggery melt and add water. Stir well to combine all and cook on low flame to form a little thick syrup..

Now add coarsely grinded sesame seeds and mix very well. Switch off the flame and immediately transfer the prepared mixture to the greased plate. Spread evenly and with the help of the backside of katori make thin layer of it and level properly..

With the help of a knife make cuts on it and let it cool completely..
