This curry recipe is cooked by marinating ilish fish with turmeric powder and salt, and cooking it in curd and ground spices. You can have Dahi Hilsha/Doi Ilish using 9 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Dahi Hilsha/Doi Ilish

  1. It’s 250 gm of Ilish fish/Hilsa ilisha.

  2. It’s 2 tbsp of Black and yellow mustared paste.

  3. It’s 1 tbsp of Poppy seeds/khus khus paste.

  4. Prepare 1 tsp of Green chilli paste.

  5. You need 4-5 tbsp of Mutared oil.

  6. You need 1/2 cup of Yogurt.

  7. It’s to taste of Salt.

  8. You need 1 tsp of Turmeric powder.

  9. You need 1/2 tsp of Kalonji.

Make a thick paste of the turmeric powder with little amount of warm water.

Then add to the pan while stirring continuously.

When the curry will start to boil, add the Ilish fish pieces in it.

Dahi Hilsha/Doi Ilish instructions

  1. Marinated the fish with salt and termeric powder for 10 min..

  2. Heat oil in a pan add kalonji and some green chilli and satue..

  3. Add yogurt and satue. Add fish and satue 3-4 min..

  4. Then add muterad paste,khus khus paste and green chilli paste..

  5. Add little bit of water for gravy and add salt and termeric..

  6. Cover and cook it 3-4 min. serve with boiled rice..

Prepare a mixture of the doi (dahi/curd), ½ tsp turmeric powder and mustard paste.
