Milk Peda is one of the popular Indian sweets which is usually made on the special occasions and festivals like Rakshabandhan, Diwali, etc. Traditionally, pedas are made from milk and sugar but that is very time consuming. This peda recipe is super easy and quick to make, which is why I call it an instant peda recipe.

Milk Peda Recipe also known as doodh peda, is a favorite Indian sweet made with mawa (milk solids) and flavored with cardamoms and assorted nuts.
It's so deliciously rich and creamy that it will melt in your mouth.
You can cook Milk Peda using 6 ingredients and 11 steps. Here is how you achieve that.
Ingredients of Milk Peda

You need 200 gms of sweetened condensed milk.

It’s 1/2 tbsp of ghee or butter.

Prepare 3/4 cup of milk powder.

Prepare 1 pinch of saffron/kesar.

You need 1 pinch of nutmeg powder/jaiphal powder.

You need 3-4 of green cardamoms.
Milk peda is basically made from milk and sugar.
Sometimes to cut short the process, condensed milk is added.
But in the milk peda recipe, I haven't used any short cut methods.
Milk alone is cooked till it solidifies and holds the shape of peda.
Milk Peda step by step

Mix the condensed milk, milk powder and ghee in a microwave-safe bowl..

Make sure there are no lumps..

Crush the cardamoms in a mortar pestle to a fine powder. discard the peels..

Microwave on high for one minute then add. the cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and saffron strands..

Stir and microwave on high for one minute, remove and stir again..

Microwave for 30 seconds on high and check. If the mixture looks a bit liquid, microwave again for 30 seconds on high. the mixture would thicken..

It took me exact 3 minutes on high power to get the right consistency. If the mixture still has moisture and is liquidity, then microwave again on high for 15 to 30 seconds more..

When the mixture becomes mildly hot or warm, shape into small balls..

If the mixture is sticky, so apply some oil or ghee while shaping into small balls..

Once cooled, store the milk pedas in an airtight box in the refrigerator..

Serve the milk pedas or doodh pedas when required..
So as you can imagine, the process is bit longer.
