How to Blends Perfect Kottu Paratha Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Kottu Paratha. Egg Kothu Paratha is a popular South Indian delicacy made with shredded chapatis or parathas. Muttai Parotta as it is called in Tamil Nadu is a dish based on a the Sri Lankan version, where it originated as Kothu Roti. It is made using paratha , eggs, some meat, and a spicy curry or gravy that are tossed together in a hot cast-iron griddle with sufficient oil. Leftover chapathi/paratha pieces are beaten up using a spatula on a cast-iron griddle and cooked along with masalas.

If you don't like more spiciness reduce the amount of curry powder to chicken curry and/or the number of green chilies to kottu roti.

Kothu Paratha is a popular South Indian street food delicacy.

For making this, parathas (flatbread made with all purpose flour) is shredded into bite size pieces and stir fried with chicken along with other spices.

  1. You need 2 of Chapathi's cooked.

  2. You need 1 of big onion.

  3. Prepare 2 of Green chillies.

  4. You need leaves of Hand ful chopped coriander.

  5. It’s 1/4 tsp of Fennel seeds.

  6. Prepare 2 of small cinnamon sticks.

  7. It’s 1/4 tsp of Garam masala.

  8. You need 2 of tsps Red chilli powder.

  9. You need 1 tsp of Cumin powder.

  10. You need 1/4 cup of water.

  11. You need 1/2 tsp of Salt.

  12. It’s 1 tsp of Oil.

Chicken kothu paratha tastes delicious with raita… Making kothu parathas is very easy if using store bought parathas.

Egg Kothu Parotta (Paratha) is simply leftover parotta sauteed along with onions, Indian spices, plain salna and most importantly eggs.

It is commonly known as Muttai Parotta or Muttai Kothu Parotta.

Kottu Paratha instructions

  1. Chop chapattis into smaller pieces using a knife / kitchen scissor. Set aside..

  2. Now to make the kothu chapati, place a kadai on flame and pour oil into it..

  3. After it heats up add fennel seeds, cinnamon stick, curry leaves, chopped green chillies, onions and sauté on low flame until onion seems half cooked..

  4. Then add chopped tomatoes and coriander leaves. Sauté till its half cooked..

  5. Do not cook tomatoes for long as it will turn mushy..

  6. Add red chilli powder, salt, cumin powder, garam masala and mix well. When raw smell leaves, pour some water..

  7. Then add the chopped chapati pieces into it and stir well..

  8. Cook until the chapati takes in the water completely and the dish seems dry..

  9. When it gets mixed up well remove from flame and serve with onion raita..

This type of paratha is a very famous Street Food in Tamilnadu, India.
