How to Prepare Appetizing Sambar my style Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Sambar my style. Traditional Sambar (My Style) & Saturday Snapshots !! Even though I say this is the traditional kerala style sambar but may not be true in all senses. As each one has their own way of making sambar in Kerala,so the steps may vary.

You can use only tur dal or a combination of tur dal, moong dal and masoor dal.

The taste of the sambhar depends on the dal used.

To get a hotel style sambar, use masoor dal and tur dal in equal quantities.

You can cook Sambar my style using 13 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you cook it.

Ingredients of Sambar my style

  1. You need 1 bowl of tur daal.

  2. It’s 1 tbsp of sambar masala.

  3. It’s 1 tsp of turmeric powder.

  4. You need 1 tsp of red chilli powder.

  5. You need 1 bowl of mix veg.

  6. It’s pinch of Hing.

  7. It’s as required of Tamarind.

  8. You need 6,7 pods of Garlic.

  9. It’s 1 tsp of rai.

  10. Prepare 1 tbsp of oil.

  11. It’s leaves of Curry.

  12. Prepare to taste of Salt.

  13. Prepare 1 tbsp of oil.

In some Sambar recipes, even black eyed beans (lobia, chawli) and whole moong beans are used.

Vegetables - This dish is loaded with the goodness of vegetables.

Here, I have used pearl onions, drumstick.

Chinna vengaya sambar is a traditional south indian style sambar that is so very delicious.

Sambar my style instructions

  1. First boil the daal with salt,turmeric powder and hing in a cooker for 2,3 whistles..

  2. Soak tamarind in water.

  3. Now chop all the veggies.

  4. Take a pan put oil in it now put rai,curry leaves,pinch of hing,garlic and all the veggies,put salt,red chill powder,sambar masala and let it cook for ten mins..

  5. When the veggies are cooked put the daal in it and mix..

  6. Your sambar is ready.

Usually, this is done in a style called Arachu vitta chinna vengaya sambar (meaning ground chinna vengaya sambar), where many spices are ground together to make a tasty and aromatic sambar.

In this recipe, I have specified my own style… You can make your Sambar with whatever vegetable you can grab from the above list.
