Recipe: Tasty Oats Daal appe Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Oats Daal appe. I use my appe pan a lot to make Moong Dal Appe, Pesto Moong Dal Appe, Lauki ke Appe and Oatmeal Avocado Appe. I have added onions, cilantro, green chilies and ginger- feel free to experiment with finely chopped colored peppers,spinach or any other vegetable. You could also try peanuts, toasted sesame seeds and coconut.

This innovative idea of mine uses just as minimal oil as possible, nearly one fourth of a teaspoon for each vada.

Absolutely yummy and infact tastes much better than it's fried version.

A perfect tea time party item or a kitty party's first choice.

You can have Oats Daal appe using 10 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Oats Daal appe

  1. It’s 3/4 cup of oats.

  2. It’s 1/4 cup of chana daal / bengal gram.

  3. You need 1/4 cup of tuar daal / piegeon pea.

  4. You need 1 tsp of fennel seed.

  5. You need 2 of green chillies.

  6. You need 1 of onion finely chopped.

  7. It’s 1 inch of ginger.

  8. Prepare 1 pinch of hing / asafoetida.

  9. You need 1 sprig of curry leaves.

  10. You need 1 handfull of coriander leaves.

Weekends are special with special breakfast and if you want to make something with ingredients at hand and also quick and healthy then this is perfect recipe.

My family loves appe in any form and when they are made extra healthy then its over in no time!

Heat appe pan on medium low heat, add few drops of oil in each section of appe pan to avoid sticking, pour beans-oats batter in each section.

Cook till it gets nice golden color and becomes crispy.

Oats Daal appe step by step

  1. Soak chana daal, tuar daal in sufficient water for 4 to 5 hr..

  2. Blend oats, green chillies, ginger, fennel seeds, in blander..

  3. Then add soaked chana daal and tuar daal, curry leaves,salt in it, grind it coarsely.add little water and grind it to a smooth paste..

  4. Mix enough water to get pouring consistency batter now add chopped onion, coriander leaves, curry leaves, chopped onions, hing, in the batter, mix all well..

  5. Pour this oats and daal batter in appe maker and cook for 2 min, flip the appe and cook on the other side untill it evenly turn gloden brown..

  6. With the help of spoon, take the appe out of the appe maker. Transfer them on the plate. Serve hot with chutney..

Turn to another side and cook same.

Grease appe pan with oil; place the rolled balls in the molds.

Cover and cook over a low heat on both the sides until the baati is cooked thoroughly.

The baatis should be hard on both outside and inside.
