Sambar, Idli with mint coconut sauce. This is a sambar recipe which i make occasionally. It is a kind of different one because of the addition of coconut in this. It taste really really good and this is a kind of thick sambar recipe and goes great with rice, idli, dosa or anything you name it.

South Indian Breakfast are most favourite among the Indians.

Hot steamed idlis that is accompanied with various condiments like vegetable sambar, coconut chutney, tomato onion chutney and pudina chutney are loved by most of the people.

I make idli, dosa and medu vada regularly and hence this simplest classic coconut chutney recipe gets made often.

You can cook Sambar, Idli with mint coconut sauce using 20 ingredients and 12 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Sambar, Idli with mint coconut sauce

  1. You need of For sambher-.

  2. Prepare 1 bowl of Arhar daal.

  3. It’s 2 pieces of Carrots.

  4. Prepare 8-10 pieces of Beans.

  5. You need 1 piece of Bottle gourd (small size).

  6. It’s 2 pieces of Onion.

  7. You need 2 pieces of Tomato.

  8. Prepare 2 pieces of Potato.

  9. It’s 2 of Green chilli.

  10. You need 1 bowl of Tamarind water.

  11. Prepare to taste of Salt.

  12. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of Red chilli powder.

  13. Prepare 1 teaspoon of Turmeric powder.

  14. Prepare 2-3 teaspoon of Sambar masala.

  15. You need 2-3 spoons of Ghee.

  16. It’s as required of Water.

  17. Prepare of For tadka -.

  18. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of Mustard seeds.

  19. It’s 1 string of Curry leaves.

  20. Prepare 2 of Dry red chilli.

We are fond of coconut chutney and sambar served with idli, dosa and vada.

In fact my mom-in-law who is actually a Punjabi, loves South Indian food, especially masala dosa, idli, sambar and rasam.

Mint leaves chutney for idli is a classic combination and tastes so good for breakfast.

The other I had prepared idlis with an array of colorful chutneys and it was fun breakfast for us.

Sambar, Idli with mint coconut sauce step by step

  1. Firstly wash then peel all the vegetables.. Then cut into small thin pieces.

  2. Now take a pressure cooker and put all the vegetables along with arhar daal & water…

  3. Add salt, turmeric and1spoon of oil or ghee.

  4. Flame on.

  5. 3-4whistles then low the flame.. Cook for 15 minutes more.

  6. Add turmerind water &sambher masala.

  7. Simmer.

  8. For tadka -take a fry pan..put 1tea spoon of desi ghee.. Add mustard seeds, dry red chilli& curry leaves.

  9. Transfer the sambher in a bowl.. Garnish with mustard seeds tadka.

  10. Sambher is ready.

  11. Serve hot.

There are many recipes for pudina chutney with coconut.

Few recipes use roasted gram dal or bhuna chana dal.

Now, idli has to be paired with a side dish.
