Recipe: Appetizing Black gram soup Delicious, fresh and tasty.

This soup is first I made when I had cold and read over Google that Black Gram (काला चना) soup or curry dish is good for cough & cold; and guess what after drinking my cold goes away - in my case its work :P.

This soup is very easy to make and along with healthy soup this is a tasty soup also.

Ingredients of Black gram soup

  1. It’s 100 gm of boiled black grams along with water in which they boiled.

  2. You need 1 tablespoon of butter.

  3. Prepare of Garlic chopped.

  4. It’s 1 pinch of Black pepper.

  5. You need to taste of salt.

  6. You need 1 of tomato.

  7. You need of Green coriander chopped.

  8. It’s of Fresh cream for garnish.

  9. Prepare of Raw chopped onion and tomatoes. Take crutones also.

Urad Dal or Black Gram lentils are normally used in the famous punjabi cuisine Dal Makhani.

However in my version of dal makhani on this blog, I have taken whole red lentils (sabut masoor dal) instead of black grams (urad dal).

Whole black lentils, also known as urad or black garam, are very similar to whole mung beans in size and shape, but are very different in taste and texture.

Black gram soup step by step

  1. Take black grams along with tomato and grind them in mixer by adding a little water.sieve the paste..

  2. Heat butter in a kadhai and add chopped garlic. Saute for 5min.

  3. Add black grams paste from mixer to the kadhai.saute for 5min. Add black grams water..

  4. Boil for 15min so that mixture cook properly.

  5. Add salt and pepper.

  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and cream..

  7. To enhance taste serve with raw onions and tomatoes along with crutones and black grams.

  8. You can take a glass mug and add onions and tomatoes and Kala chana.

  9. Now pour hot sizzling soup and enjoy.
