Homemade porridge beans and fried plantain is so easy to cook, I really love the aspect of frying the plantain because I must taste out of every batch fried….like keep testing. This is tasty dish and has become popular over the years, as most parents have discovered it as a way of getting their kids to eat beans.

Beans and plantain was and still is my favourite.

A couple of months ago, a friend taught me a new method.

Finally, when the beans are one half cooked, add yam cubes and keep on cooking until the yam is soft enough.

You can cook Porridge beans and fried plantain! using 7 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook it.

Ingredients of Porridge beans and fried plantain!

  1. You need of Brown beans.

  2. It’s of Potash.

  3. You need of Fresh pepper.

  4. It’s of Onions.

  5. You need of Plantain.

  6. You need of Palm oil.

  7. It’s of Seasoning cubes and salt.

Add turkey meat, crayfish, salt and seasoning and stir well.

Keep on cooking the porridge until the wanted thickness is achieved.

Making plantain with fried brown beans.

This brown beans porridge is cooked with vegetable oil, not palm oil.

Porridge beans and fried plantain! instructions

  1. Pick beans to remove dirt and stones, wash, put in a pot of boiling water and add some potash. Cover and allow to boil until almost cooked. Drain to remove the black water..

  2. Put back in the pot, add enough water to cook it, add blended pepper, chopped onions, seasoning cubes and salt to taste, add the palm oil, cover and allow to cook until soft..

  3. Put a pan of vegetable oil on fire, and fry the plantain until golden brown..

  4. Your meal is ready! Serve the beans with plantain, garnish with vegetable and meat or chicken. Enjoy!.

The color may not be red like your normal palm oil beans, but I guarantee you that this is sure going to be your favorite.

It is nothing like the ordinary beans you have always forced yourself to swallow.

If you cooked the beans porridge without any of the additions, serve with Fried Plantain, Fried Yam or fried sweet potatoes.

Stir in the chopped spinach, adjust seasoning and serve with some rice.
