Green moong Biryani. The Green Moong Dal Biryani With Vegetables, is a combination that is wholesome and yet packed with spices, flavours, and taste. I came up with this Biryani Recipe when I was packing the kids lunch boxes and then I realised that I wanted to include more protein in their diet. Instead of rice with vegetables, I decided to add the green moong to it and spicing it up.

Sprouted moong biryani is a spicy and flavorful biryani where rice is cooked in spicy onion, tomato and moong mixture.

This biryani is easy to prepare and very healthy too.

How to Make Sprouted Moong Biryani.

Ingredients of Green moong Biryani

  1. Prepare 2 cups of rice.

  2. It’s 1 cup of sprouted green moong.

  3. It’s 1 of big onion sliced.

  4. Prepare 1 of Tomato sliced.

  5. Prepare 2 teaspoons of garlic paste.

  6. It’s 1 teaspoon of ginger paste.

  7. It’s 2 of green chillies.

  8. Prepare 1 teaspoon of garam masala.

  9. You need 1/2 teaspoon of chilli powder.

  10. It’s 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder.

  11. You need 1 of carrot grated.

  12. You need 1 of onion finely chopped.

  13. Prepare 1 of green chilli finely chopped.

  14. Prepare 1/2 cup of curd.

  15. Prepare Handful of Coriander leaves chopped.

  16. You need 2 tablespoons of oil or ghee.

  17. You need to taste of Salt.

Soak the rice for half an hour.

Add cumin seeds, cardamoms, cinnamon and peppercorns.

When the seeds start spluttering, add chopped onions and fry.

Green moong Biryani step by step

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker..

  2. Add onion and saute till golden brown..

  3. Add ginger garlic paste and saute..

  4. Add tomatoes and saute till it turns mushy..

  5. Now add green chillies and all dry masala and saute for few minutes..

  6. Add sprouted green moong mix well and cover and cook for five minutes..

  7. After five minutes add four and half cup of water and bring it to boil..

  8. Wash the rice and add to the boiling water. Cook for two whistle..

  9. Biryani is ready to serve..

  10. For raita, in bowl whisk the curd. Now add grated carrots, chopped onion and chillies coriander leaves and salt. Mix well..

  11. Serve hot sprouted green moong Biryani with carrot raita..
