Ingredients of Badam / almond Halwa

  1. Prepare 1/2 cup of almond paste.

  2. Prepare 2 cup of wheat flour.

  3. Prepare 3/4 cup of sugar (adjust accordingly as per need).

  4. It’s 7 cup of water.

  5. It’s 3/4 cup of ghee.

  6. It’s 10 of almonds finely chopped long strips.

It is a perfectly rich and heavy festive dessert.

Badam is the Hindi term for almonds, so it is also called almond halwa.

In the western part of India, this kind of pudding is referred to as sheera.

Hence we call it badam sheera.

Badam / almond Halwa step by step

  1. Soak almonds for 4 to 5 hours. In winter soak in warm water so that its easy to peel them. Peel them and make a fine paste in mixer.

  2. Take half of ghee in pan. Add badam paste and roast for 5 min on low flame..Now add rest of ghee and wheat flour and roast till light golden brown on low flame. Dont high the flame or aflour will get burn..

  3. Till nicely roasted and u get the aromat smell around you keep on roasting till golden brown.

  4. When nicely roasted add water and sugar and briskly stir so that no lumpsarer formed.. Keep the flame high and stir continuously till water incorporates with water and halwa starts leaving ghee in pan..

  5. Garnish with chopped almonds and serve hot to ur loved ones.
