They wanted us to cook something with Tempeh (Indonesian soy product, fermented soybean) and anchovy as main ingredients.

Ingredients of Tempeh and Anchovy Burger

  1. You need 2 of burger buns.

  2. Prepare of Cheese.

  3. You need of Mayonnaise.

  4. You need of Tomato.

  5. It’s of Lettuce.

  6. You need of Chili sauce (if you like it spicy).

  7. It’s of Patty.

  8. Prepare 100 g of Tempeh.

  9. Prepare 80 g of Anchovy.

  10. It’s 2 cloves of garlic.

  12. Prepare 1 Tsp of soysauce.

  13. Prepare 1 Tbsp of all purpose flour.

  14. It’s 2 Tbsp of bread flour.

  15. Prepare 1 Tbsp of margarine/butter.

  16. You need 50 g of bread crumbs.

  17. Prepare pinch of salt and pepper.

I chose to make something fancy with these simple and cheap.

Tempeh and Anchovy Burger step by step.

Put steamed tempeh into a bowl and mash it with fork.

  1. Cut tempeh into dice and steam it for 15-20 minutes. Put steamed tempeh into a bowl and mash it with fork. Set aside..

  3. Heat the pan and melt margarine or butter. Put garlic, stir it until fragrance and add anchovy. Cook it about 5 minutes until anchovies cooked. Set aside.

  4. Mix cooked anchovy with mashed tempeh. Add all purpose flour, bread flour, soy sauce, salt, pepper and 3/4 part of beaten egg (the rest will be used for coating the patty). Mix it well..

  5. Divide patty dough into two. Shape into patty about 5 inches wide (depends on the wide of burger bun).

  6. Put patty into egg mixture and coat it with bread crumbs.

  7. Heat the oil with low fire and fry patty until it becomes golden brown..

  8. Spread butter on burger bun, and grilled it for 3 minutes.

  9. Put mayonnaise and other ingredients on burger as you like.

  10. Tempeh and Anchovy Burger is ready to serve ๐Ÿ”โœจ.
