You have to cook it on a very low flame untill the potatoes turn crispy and all the masala sticks to the potatoes…Hence the name "Chukka", Chukka means Dry…They taste great with plain rasam rice.
Masala vada is made by coarsely grinding soaked chana dal or bengal gram.
Then spices, onions & herbs are added to the dough.
This dough is then shaped to small disc or patties & deep fried.

These are crispy, very flavorful & addictive in taste.
Grease a plate or a board and spread the dry flour over it.
Flatten each with a rolling pin into a round disk.
Prick the pooris all over with a fork.
