Moong Daal idli without rice. This Moong Dal Idli is a no-rice, Protein-rich Idli variety. Out of all lentils Moong Dal is rich in protein and is very healthy for even babies. Dal is soaked, ground to thick batter and enhanced with tempering, veggies and eno salt.

This idli is a favourite of my dad and a favourite of mine too.

This idlis are less in carbs then compared to the normal Idli.

This Split Green Moong Dal Idli are rich in protein and dietary fibre.

You can have Moong Daal idli without rice using 15 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Moong Daal idli without rice

  1. You need 1/2 bowl of moong dhuli daal.

  2. Prepare 1/2 bowl of semolina.

  3. You need 1/2 bowl of curd.

  4. It’s 1 sachet of eno fruit salt.

  5. Prepare 1 tb of sp lemon juice.

  6. You need To taste of salt.

  7. It’s 1/2 bowl of water.

  8. Prepare of For Tadka.

  9. It’s 1 tb of sp cooking oil.

  10. You need 1/2 tb of sp mustard seeds.

  11. Prepare 1/4 tsp of asafoetida.

  12. Prepare 2 of Green chilli.

  13. Prepare of Others.

  14. Prepare of As required water for soaking moong Daal.

  15. Prepare 1 glass of water for steaming idli.

Loaded with essential vitamins and is vegan and gluten free.

The idli's come out very soft.

Moong Daal idli without rice step by step

  1. Soak moong Daal for 4 hours and then grind it to a smooth paste in a mixer. Jo.

  2. In a mixing bowl add grinded paste of moong Daal. Add semolina and curd. Mix it well. Adjust the consistency of mixture by adding 1/2 bowl water. Mix well and keep aside for half an hour..

  3. After half an hour beat this mixture with ladle for 2 minutes. Now Add salt and turmeric powder and lemon juice and mix. Lastly add eno and mix..

  4. Now grease the idli mould and put the ladle full of mixture in each mould..

  5. Heat water in a pressure cooker and place the idli mould and place the lid without weight and steam for 12 minutes. Switch off the flame and keep aside for 15 minutes..

  6. After 15 minutes remove the mould and demould idlis and place in a plate..

  7. Now heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and when mustard seeds splutter add split green chilli and asafetida and sauté for 1 minute. Switch off the flame and put this tadka on idlis..

  8. Serve hot with sauce or mint chutney..

It is a perfect healthy breakfast recipe which is quick to make & does not require long preparation time.
