In a large pot brown the meat with the chopped onion over medium heat then drain most of the fat.

Add the cans of whole peeled tomatoes and crushed tomatoes to the meat and onion and cook until the sauce gets warm.

Add the herbs and spices and simmer over medium low heat for at least half an hour (the longer its left to cook the better the flavor will be) if cooking for more than an hour reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring often.

Remove from heat and serve over your favorite pasta, cover top of a homemade pizza or use with meatballs on a sub sandwhich.
