Mutta Surka. Mutta Surka is a special dish from the Malabar region in Kerala made from matta rice and egg. This is a delicious tea time snack. It goes well with chicken curry, mutton curry, beef curry etc.

Mutta surkka is a special Malabari dish that is extremely delicious and fluffy.

Now add Egg and grind once more to make a smooth batter (Idli Batter consistency) Mutta surka and cardamom tea is a match made in heaven.

You can roast the rice flour taken in a non-stick pan over stove top till the flour turns aromatic and starts to turn light golden.

You can cook Mutta Surka using 2 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Mutta Surka

  1. Soak Rice in water over night. Grind into smooth paste without or very little water..

  4. Heat oil in a pan, pour a spoon full of batter into the oil and deep fry until they puff up and turns golden brown on both sides..

It can be serve with chicken,mutton, and fish curries as break fast or dinner.

Egg yolks are mixed with sugar syrup and spun into fine threads to make the delicious Mutta Maala.

This sweet is a staple at most weddings in Kozhikode and Malappuram.
